Whole Wheat Beetroot Burger

Gone are the days of bland, boring veggie burgers! My beetroot patties are earthy from the beetroot and sweet from the carrot and green peas making them a wholesome and tasty. These home-made Beetroot Burger Patties are high in protein, fibre, iron.

Ingredients:

Beetroot Patty

  1. Beetroot:2 Cup
  2. Potato(Medium): 3
  3. Carrots Diced: 1 Cup
  4. Green Peas: 1/2 Cup
  5. Grated Garlic: 2-3 cloves
  6. Grated Ginger:1/2 inch
  7. Chopped Green Chilli:1-2
  8. Roasted Gram Flour:3 tbsp
  9. Garam Masala:1/2 tsp
  10. Chaat Masala:1 tsp
  11. Red Chilli Powder: 1/2 tsp
  12. Butter:1 tbsp
  13. Salt: As per taste

Batter:

  1. Bread Crumbs: 1/2 cup
  2. Refined Flour/Maida: 2 tbsp
  3. Poha crushed :1/2 cup
  4. Salt:As per taste
  5. Black Pepper:1/2 tsp
  6. Water:1/4 to 1/2 cup

Burger Toppings:

  1. Whole wheat burger Buns:6
  2. Avocado Mint Dip: as per taste
  3. Mustard Sauce: as per taste
  4. Zucchini Pickle: 6 slice
  5. Onion rings(Big) : 
  6. Tomato:2
  7. Lettuce: 1
  8. Olive:6
  9. Cheese Slices:6
  10. Chaat Masala: as per taste

Procedure:

Beetroot Patty


1.In a pan,add butter, chopped ginger, green chilli saute well.





2.Add chopped Carrots and saute it well.



3.Add Green Peas and Mash them little.



4.Add Grated Beetroot and saute well.



5.Add Chaat masala,red chilli powder, garam masala, salt to taste cook well for 2 mins,       cool down mixture.




6.Take Bowl, Add boiled grated potatoes and add cooled mixture.


7.Add Roasted Gram Flour, Chaat masala and salt, mix well.



8.With the help of a cookie cutter or with your hands make patty.



9.In a bowl, add all purpose flour and water to make slurry.



10.For Bread crumb coating In another bowl, add fresh bread crumbs, crushed poha,black pepper,red chilli powder,salt and mix well.





11.Now firstly coat patty with slurry and then the bread crumbs and coat it well.




12.In a pan, add oil and butter and shallow fry the patty till nice color and crisp.




Roasting Whole Wheat Burger Buns

1.Cut the buns and in another pan Toast the buns till light brown colour.
Add butter and slice the onion into rings and grill the onion on the same pan.



Burger Assembly


1.Take the bottom half of bun, place lettuce and tomato slice on it and sprinkle some           chaat masala.
2.Spread Some Mustard sauce on it.
3.Place the Beetroot Patty on it and add cheese slice.
4.Add some Avocado Mint Dip on top.
5.Place Zucchini Pickle on top
6.Add Caramelised onions on it
7.Close the burger with the bun and insert toothpick with green or black olive
8.Serve it with Avocado Mint Dip, Tomato Sauce and french fries



Tips:

1. Cool Beetroot Mixture before making Patty
2. In place of zucchini pickle you can use your choice of salad
3. No Avocado,than use green chutney as substitute( note: it will not taste same)
4.Add salt in as Mentioned in steps
