Karele Ki Daal

Karlya ch Varan



Ingredients:

Karela (Bitter gourd) : 2 big
Arhar dal ( tur dal) : 1 cup
Imli ( Tamarind) : 1 tbs thik pulp
Grated Coconut : 1/4 cup
Barik kata Adarak ( fine chopped Ginger): 1 tbs
Barik kata Lahsoon ( Fine chopped Garlic): 1 tbs
Khadi lal mirch : 4
Kadhipatta : 10  leaves
Jeera ( Cumin) :1/2 tsp
Rai (Mustard Seeds): 1 tsp
Hing ( Asafoetida) : 1/2 tsp
Garam masala: 1 tsp
Red chilly powder:  as per taste
Salt: as per taste
Haldi: 1 tsp
Dhana powder ( coriander powder):2 tsp
Gur: acc to taste

Procedure:
  1. Boil tur dal in cooker.
  2. Cut Karela in small pieces after removing seeds. 
  3. Heat oil add Jeera,Rai  and Hing, Karipatta, Red Chilles, Garlic. Ginger, Coconut and saute it. 
  4. Add Karela ans than saute til not cooked on low flame, cover it for 2 mins, till oil separated.
  5. Add boiled Dal, and Tamarind paste, Gur, Garam masala, Dhana powder, Red chilly powder, salt and cover it for 10 mins on low flame til oil comes up.
  6.  Garnish with Coriander and Coconut.
